Sibusiso Xaba, CFA is the co-founder and CEO of ACA Group, a newly established investments and advisory business focused on the Africa cannabis market. The company looks to work with top cannabis entrepreneurs across a wide range of businesses and assists them in creating, calibrating and executing their financial, strategic and operational plans. ACA Group bring together a highly experienced team from a broad range of industries including private equity, capital markets, technology, agriculture and healthcare. ACA also works with select international partners to ensure its clients are provided with the best local and international solutions.
Previously Sibs works as part of the Institutional Sales Group at Investec in London covering African and European investors. Sibs worked closely with the debt origination and investment teams to help structure and sell debt and equity transactions in export finance, infrastructure, aviation and trade finance. He was the lead syndicator for The Government of Zambia’s flagship $160m Maina Soko hospital project. Sibs was also responsible for venture capital fundraising for Investec’s UK (£75m) and India ($50m) VC funds. Previously, Sibs spent 5 years on the Africa Institutional Sales desk at Goldman Sachs in London. He covered clients across South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, Namibia, Mauritius and Angola; mainly focused on providing derivative solutions and market access to central banks, pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, commercial banks, asset managers and insurers. Sibs co-founded SYH, a tech and agri-trading focused venture capital investment vehicle in South Africa.
Sibs works closely with a number of charities and is the co-founder and chairman of Ithuba Foundation, an organisation that mentors and funds promising high school learners from previously disadvantaged backgrounds in South Africa. He is also a Fellow of the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation and was awarded the Lifetime Achiever Award in 2011. Sibs graduated with Finance Honours from the University of Cape Town.
