Eli is a Principal in the NJ-based law firm Porzio, Bromberg & Newman, P.C. He counsels employers, businesses and entrepreneurs on emerging issues associated with state-legalization of cannabis and federal illegality, cannabis licensing, and regulatory compliance. He also concentrates in business litigation, insurance coverage, insurance regulations and compliance, management-side employment counseling and litigation defense, and appellate work.
Eli co-chairs Porzio, Bromberg & Newman P.C.’s cannabis law practice, and is a member of Porzio Compliance Services, which leverages complementary resources from the law firm and its other subsidiaries, Porzio Governmental Affairs and Porzio Life Sciences, to provide regulatory, legal and business services to cannabis clients. Eli also chairs the International Cannabis Bar Association’s Legislative Advisement Committee.
Eli is a believer in the plant (and plants in general, as a third-generation vegan), and personally came to this space as an ultra-runner looking for ways to decompress, sleep and mitigate soreness and inflammation following 50 and 100-mile trail races. He is currently training for the Moab 240 Endurance Run in Moab, Utah in October 2020.
